Birbal & Sherkhan

The Begum of Shahenshah Akbar always used to wonder that why Bribal is so favorite of her husband. She felt that her brother Sherkhan was much worthier of becoming the Vazir (Prime Minister) in Akbar's courtroom. Often she used to pester her husband to remove Birbal and appoint her brother Sherkhan as the Vazir. Annoyed by her persistence, one day Akbar asks Birbal to step down for few days and appoints Sherkhan as the Vazir. 

After few days, when three of them were sitting in the garden, Akbar hears the bells ringing. He sends Sherkhan to see what they are about. He runs out, comes back and informs that about 50 bullock carts are going. Akbar further asks, what are they carrying? Sherkhan shunts and informs they are carrying rice. At what rate? Next by Akbar. Now Sherkhan was too tired to run out and come back.

In arrives Birbal at the point. Akbar asks Birbal about why the bells are ringing. Birbal answers that the bells were of about 50 bullock carts, carrying very high quality of rice from the south, the rate is very reasonable, so he has purchased all the rice and has come to inform Akbar about the same.

The Begum realizes her mistake and Akbar happily reinstates Birbal as the Vazir and also offers him a reward.

Management Learning:

Whenever you are required to face a situation, assess it from all the sides, before arriving at a conclusion. Once assessed, initiate all the necessary actions simultaneously to reap the benefits of the situation. A complete assessment from all the angles will always bring you the benefits.

Aesop and Mimicry Artist

Once upon a time, there was a very famous mimicry artist in Greece. He used to mimic the voice of almost all famous human beings, animals and birds. People used to enjoy his performance like anything. The parties thrown by the rich and the famous were incomplete without his event. Once, Aesop's owner threw a party in his house. Needless to say, the mimicry artist was invited to entertain the guests. He too did it so nicely. The one particular item people liked the most was 'the noise of a pig'. The artist hid his face in a shawl and made the noise of a pig in such a manner that everybody felt that some pig must have entered the party hall. Picnic Loads

All of us know that Aesop was a slave. Unlike other owners, Aesop's owner was a kind hearted gentleman. He never ill-treated his slaves. At times he used to give them some free time to enjoy. On one such occasion, all the slaves plan to go for a picnic on a nearby hillock. They carried sports material, eatables and other necessary items with them. All of them chose some or the other light weight material. But Aesop chose to carry all the eatables. The load was heavy and Aesop was hardly managing to walk with that load. Everybody was laughing at him. Finally they reached the hillock, of course Aesop was the last one.
